BACCHUS MEETINGS SLATED FOR NEXT WEDNESDAY AT
11:30AM! We
need everyoneÕs help to bring Raucous Bacchus together. In order to help everyone get
involved, Committee Chair Kathy Lafferty will be asking each member to take car of specific tasks. DonÕt despair if you canÕt make it to
the event, thereÕs a lot to be done before. And, if you budget doesnÕt allow
for you to attend, we can always use new members of the clean-up crew! Meetings
will be held at 11:30 AM, just before our regular meetings. If you attend, you will be fine free
for the day! ROBERT STRONG BOOKED TO
HEADLINE BACCHUS ENTERTAINMENT Robert
Strong has been confirmed to be the headline entertainment for Raucous
Bacchus. The idea of having a comedy competition was a good one, but would be
almost impossible to pull together in the little time we have. Robert captivates his audiences with amazing magic, breathtaking
juggling, and outrageous comedy. Since 1985, he has performed in 17
countries, on national television, and twice at the White House. He was
recently voted "San Francisco's Funniest Prop Comic." HereÕs
some of his reviews: "Outrageous!"
-Washington Post ÒBest bet!"
-The Baltimore Sun "This world-class entertainer will be back for
his fifth smash year. RobertÕs show is laugh out loud entertainment that is
great for the entire family. He is simply captivating!"
-The Smithsonian "Is he a magician who does comedy or a comedian
who does magic? You be the judge. Either way, Robert Strong's a riot. Check
him out."
-The
Las Vegas Sun "Hot ticket!"
-Baltimore Magazine You can check him out at his

TECHNOBOOB UPDATE
I thought you would want to know
about this e-mail virus. Even the most advanced programs from Norton or
McAfee cannot take care of this one.
It appears to affect those who
were born prior to 1965.
Symptoms:
1.
Causes
you to send the same e-mail twice. Done that!
2.
Causes
you to send a blank e-mail! That too!
3.
Causes
you to send e-mail to the wrong person. Yep!
4.
Causes
you to send it back to the person who sent it to you. Who me?
5.
Causes
you to forget to attach the attachment. Well darn!
6.
Causes
you to hit "SEND" before you've finished. Oh no - not again!
7.
Causes
you to hit "DELETE" instead of "SEND." and I just hate
that!
8.
Causes
you to hit "SEND" when you should "DELETE."
Oh No!
IT IS CALLED
THE "C-NILE VIRUS. . CV SUNRISE SPONSORS E-WASTE AT CHRONICLE PAVILION The Rotary Club of Clayton Valley/Concord
Sunrise, in conjunction with Got E-Waste Inc., a State certified recycler, is
sponsoring a hazardous electronic equipment recycling event on October 7 th,
8th & 9th at Concord's Chronicle Pavilion. This event is being
billed as the largest E-Recycling event ever held in California. E-waste is a
popular, informal name for electronic products at or nearing the end of their
"useful life." Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos,
copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused,
refurbished, or recycled. Unfortunately, these electronic discards
often find their way to our landfills and destroy our environment with toxic
waste and heavy metals. Items will be accepted working or not at this drop
off location include: Computers, Toner Cartridges, Computer Monitors,
Telephone Equipment, Computer Components, Cellular Phones, Keyboards/Mouses,
(Not Mice) Power Supplies, Printers, DVD Players, Fax/Copy Machines,
Laptops, VCRs, TV's, I-Pods, Electronic Cords & Cables. This recycling event is FREE to California
residents. The public is encouraged to bring all their E-Waste items to
this drop off location. There is no limit as to how much any person or
business can bring. The gates will be open on Friday, October 7th from 1:00
p.m. to 6:00 p.m. On Saturday October 8th & Sunday, October 9th the
gates will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. |

WAKAYAMA / JAPAN MEETING SLATED JAN. 8th
- 15th A very special Hawaiian
meeting is slated to take place from January 8th – 15th
on the island of Maui, HawaiÕi.
Approximately 20 members of the Wakayama West RC will be flying to the
islands and staying at the Westin Maui.
Jeff & Beri have
already booked their flights and hotel rooms. What a great chance to catch a few rays and renew old (and
in some cases new) friendships. Airfare is CHEAP! For about $400 per person on Hawaiian
Airlines, you can get to Maui.
Think about it, you couldnÕt drive there for that price! If youÕre interested in going, let
Jeff for Beri know ASAP. We
might be able to put together a package deal with the hotel. CLUB COMMITTEES FILLING UP FAST ThereÕs a lot of work to do and everyone needs to help out in their
multiple areas of interest. If there are any holes in
the committees, the board will fill them at the next board meeting. (Remember, the board may think youÕre
interested in other things that you are) DONÕT MISS A MEETING! If you miss a meeting, here are some nearby Rotary Clubs
that can help you keep your 100% attendance and meet new friends:
You can get the details of
each clubÕs meeting place and download a copy at the clubÕs web site: www.CDRotary.org |
